I’m trying out Clementine and Strawberry but both have the same issue …they will not play wma files and complain about a missing plugin.
Your GStreamer installation is missing a plug-in.
I’ve install the Gstreamer extra plugins but still get this issue. I see lots of gstreamer plugins but don’t want to go about playing hit or miss and thought I’d ask here. Audicious seems to play it fine but I’m not having much luck with adding entire folders with that app; vlc plays it to but I’d prefer a decent audio player. Which do you guys prefer Clementine or Strawberry? I’m looking for a decent audio player that have good features like Clementine, I used to use amarok but it seems dead. I like the EQ since I usually BT to my Bose and can adjust it, steaming isn’t something I usually do but I’d most likely use spotify or something for that. I’m running up to date TW. Yes, I’ve got packman and did the switch when I stalled this summer. At least I think or is there something else to switch other then the main docs say?
I only ask, because when you did never do it most people here will not even think about your problem until you do it.
When you are not sur, you can do it always again, it does not hurt.
E.g. YaST > Software > Software Management, then from the View button choose Partitions, then from the partitions list at left choose Packman, hen at right above the list of packages there is something like Switch system packages to …, click on the underlined part and Go!.
When there is nothing to do, your earlier switch was still valid. When something is done, test your problem again.
Ok, fair enough but as I stated it’s working; I understand what your saying as audacious seems to be pulled from the main branch but it’s plugins show to be installed via packman. I don’t see any clementine gsstreamer plugins having had been installed via packman but others are like vlc etc.

I’ve installed the ugly plugin and about a dozen more. I am trying to play an ipod and I get the same error message without any hint of which plugin is missing. There are dozens more plugins but I’m not going to install all of them. Any idea of which other plugin might work? BTW, the Clementine help forum is pathetic.
I would post this but I removed Clementine and the ugly plugin. So, I can’t show useful info. I do have packman working after the recent difficulties. Similarly, gtkpod didn’t work with the old ipod. So, I removed that as well. I removed them the wrong way and now I failed to remove all the unneeded files they brought in with them. Anyway, here are the “normal” plugins. Remember, I removed gstreamer ugly after it failed to solve the problem

I am not quite following this. @Neal had a problem and from his last post here, I understand that it is solved.
Then you tune in, which means that you have exactly the same problem with the same versions as the OP. Which means that the same solution should help you. The fact that you post means to me that notwithstanding that you have implemented the same solution as the OP, you still have a problem. But now I understand you do not even have (anymore) Clementine installed. Thus how do you know and prove here that the solution does not work for you?
I did the Packman vendor change. I don’t know why, I was using the only mirror that was working a few days ago. It did give 25 vendor changes on installed files. I then re-installed Clementine. It didn’t work. I got the same error message about an unnamed missing plugin. From a different recommendation, I installed gstreamer-ugly. That didn’t work either. I got the same error message.
I have to research the proper zypper command that pulls clementine out along with the files it brought in with it.
Mine works fine and never had the same problem as you, I think it might be a problem with your computer. I play a lot of Goodgame Empire it doesn’t give any errors
