Is cleartype font now available out-of-box in v11.1?
Considering the reason why it’s not available, I think we may freely assume it will never be. Until the patent holders release it to the public domain, that is. Geez, the joys of software patenting!
I don’t expect it out of the box (though Ubuntu does offer it out of the box…), but I do expect a third party repository to offer it. Does one exist?
