I’m mainly a Debian user and wanted to use suse for an installation because of certain packages for web application. Anyway:
Brand new install, downloaded from openSUSE site yesterday, selected server during install (i.e. cli, no gui;)), network set appropriately and can ping to the web (including local country repos). It’s running virtually on VMWare vSphere (ESXi 4.1.0).
Tried to run zypper update and go into software manager in yast and all repos, the original and local repos say:
Permission to access 'http:// ....REPO Address...' denied
Please help… need to be able to install packages, otherwise I’ll just have to go back to a Debian flavor… not what I want.

are you behind a proxy, or on a (say) corporate/school/etc LAN?
