Clean Install Leap 15.2 - Error mount /dev/loop0

Hi,

Do not understand this message every time i check for “Software Updates” - (PolicyKit1 KDE Agent) Authentication is required to mount /dev/loop0
Have used openSUSE for many years always doing a clean install of the different versions; latest Leap 15.2 with KDE. Due to this message I did a new clean install - still same result.

Please assist

Wen I check with # df -kh I do not find any /dev/loop0 - here is the result

Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
devtmpfs 3.9G 8.0K 3.9G 1% /dev
tmpfs 3.9G 146M 3.8G 4% /dev/shm
tmpfs 3.9G 18M 3.9G 1% /run
tmpfs 3.9G 0 3.9G 0% /sys/fs/cgroup
/dev/sda2 192G 7.5G 175G 5% /
/dev/sda3 516G 119G 372G 25% /home
tmpfs 794M 32K 794M % /run/user/1000

I am not seeing that message.

How did you install Leap 15.2?

If you installed from an iso (rather than from DVD or USB), then maybe it wants to loop mount that iso to use it as a repo.

What’s the output from:

zypper lr -d

Please use CODE tags for posting that output.

I believe the problems comes from the iso file link (line 2) as I never used this before and when I remove this the errors from mount /dev/loop0 is gone.

Sorry for not being better in openSUSE after so many years (my age maybe+) but I went back to having the iso install file in the home dir. instead of.

Please advice and comment
Best regards

Aage J.

Yes, repo #2 was the likely problem. That repo does require a loop mount. So it would have worked with Yast (runs as root), but not with the desktop update applet.

Removing or disabling that repo is the solution.

Hi
Thank you so much for good support - Do I need any connection with this install iso at all or is it good enough that it is in the folder line # 3 -
openSUSE_Drivers ?

You did my day.

Best regards

Aage J.

No, you don’t need that at all, unless you decide to do a reinstall.

Thank you nrickert ](https://forums.opensuse.org/member.php/49759-nrickert)You really made my day - and now - my new installed from scratch (except for my Home partitions) openSuse Leap 15.2 is working perfect.
Thanks for now

Aage J.
