Yesterday, I came across a very helpful article here https://forums.opensuse.org/t/tumbleweed-fritz-box-myfritz-service/184274 about best practices for configuring IPv6 on routers, including some practical examples using a Fritz!Box. I bookmarked the post to review it again, but I noticed it was hidden less than 24 hours later.
Could someone please clarify why the post was hidden? I want to make sure I understand the forum guidelines correctly and avoid any unintentional mistakes in the future.
Thank you very much for your help and for maintaining this valuable community!
When I understand what I read there, someone flagged this post to bring it to the attention of the staff. We can not see the comment added to the flagging. But we (specially you) now have to wait what the staff decides. Either it will be unhidden, or will be changed and unhidden, or will be removed.
As you can see, @hui has also replied. If I understand @hui correctly, he suggests that configuring most routers for IPv6 is not particularly complicated, as long as you know which box to tick. I appreciate this perspective—it’s always helpful to learn when things can be simpler than expected. Thank you, @hui.
However, I have another concern I hope you can clarify. From what I remember, @karlmistelberger’s article provided a step-by-step guide for the specific situation he described. @hcvv, could you please help me understand why the article needed to be hidden from public view in the first place? Is there a chance it might be restored, perhaps after some review or edits? I noticed that at least two other users had upvoted the article, and I was not one of them.
Thank you for your patience with my questions. Your previous quick response made a friendly impression on me, which encouraged me to ask for further clarification.
As I explained already, someone found there something he thought he should report to staff. It was not me. I did not even read the post in detail.
Again, that depends on the nature of the report/flagging and what staff decides.
I tried to explain how “flagging” works. I have no comments whatsoever about the contents of the post and as it is hidden, I can not try to study it now. In any case.
The technical background of IPv6 on routers can not be the subject on this topic because here we are at “about the forums”. And with that background I tried to explain.
