I have tried the .ymp file, but I am getting repository errors in YaST (says that it cannot find the repository). I believe YaST is being given the wrong hyperlinks for the repositories.
I tried the xterm method with the same issue.
Finally I tried using the .rpm file through YaST. This ended up kind of working, but it just finished and nothing happened. When I rebooted nothing had changed. I opened the .rpm file again in YaST and there was one package there called “cinnamon” that it wanted to install again. This reappears every time the .rpm file is opened through YaST.
What am I doing wrong or is something broken?
