Cinelerra Error on Start-up

All,

I am a Linux newbie spending the last 7 months with Linux Mint 11 and 12 and switching to opneSUSE 12.1 about 1 month ago. I love the flexibility of KDE desktop on this distro.

Earlier this evening I installed Cinelerra on my system and I get a window with the following message package start-up. Cinelerra seems to run fun but I want to address the issue noted below but do not know what to do. Can anyone help understand and address this issue?

Many thanks in advance… Dougzak :nerd:

**
void MWindow::init_shm():warning: /proc/sys/kernel/shmmax is 0x20000000, which is too low
Before running Cinelerra do the following as root
echo"0x7fffffff" > /proc/sys/kernel/shmmax**

My System:
Custom Build equipped with a Biostar A780L3G motherboard with an AMD Phenom II X4 925 Processor (Quad Core running at 2.8 Ghz)
4 GB of memory and an ATI Radeon HD 3000 Graphics chipset
Operating System is openSUSE 12.1 (64 bit version)
One 160 GB WD drive and one 320 GB WD drive

Not an error, more of a recommendation. See http://www.g-raffa.eu/Cinelerra/HOWTO/installation.html

Note that in openSUSE you may use su instead of sudo.

Brunomci,

Thanks for your help my friend…it is greatly appreciated.
