It seems that I got a problem with that in Chromium. when I press Alt button while typing in a textbox, chromium immediately puts the blinking text cursor out of the text box. so if I press Alt + Shift to change language, I have to navigate my mouse cursor back to the textbox (although it changes the keyboard language still).
that’s annoying when I want to type multi language texts in chromium. no other application have this problem for me (test on Firefox, Kate, and several other applications, it seems that only Chromium is affected). also it happened since recent updates (from 20 days ago or so), and deleting config files + reinstalling chromium did not work.
If I press shift + alt instead of alt + shift, it works without any problem.
KDE Plasma 5.19.4, Chromium build 84.0.4147.89-1.1 from OSS repos.
These keystrokes set focus to the Toolbar pane:
- **F6**
(focuses the Location Bar) - **Alt+Shift+T**
(focuses the leftmost enabled control of the Main Toolbar) - **Alt**
(focuses the page menu) - **F10**
(focuses the page menu)
So that’s why simply pressing (or holding) Alt key puts away the text cursor. Since there is no way to disable default shortcut keys on Chromium, I had to go back to propitiatory Google Chrome for now
