chromium-ffmpeg

Hello everybody.

I’m trying to use chromium browser with the chromium-ffmpeg package from the pacman repo for watching webM videos on the Youtube. However, it does not work for me. I can only see that video is “loading”, but it never plays. Sometimes the youtube tab crashes, sometimes it does not, but in both cases chromium doesn’t put anything to the terminal. Google tells that people have such combination working (for debian-like systems the package is called chromium-codecs-ffmpeg).

I’ve tried this on both 32 and 64 bit opensuse 11.3 without any success.

Did anybody try this on opensuse? Or, at least, does anybody know how to find out what is wrong with my chromium installation (logs ot smth else)?

Thanks in advance.

My system: opensuse 11.3 - x84_64, 2.6.34.7-0.7; ffmpeg 0.6, chromium 10.0.633.0 (from the contrib repository)

It’s handy if you post a URL in cases such as this. means we can quickly check.

For example, this (for h264)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K_RBY23OxBMhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6LZfpKQv2aY)
for webM codec.
(html5 in youtube can be enabled here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=(http://www.youtube.com/html5) )

Agreed
Fails for me too
FFox is Fine though
