Chromium copy image to clipboard not working (sometimes)

Hi,

I’m not sure whether this is related to KDE, clipboard, Chromium or any other installed application/service. Could you please try to copy this image to clipboard from any Chromium based browser?

You should right click on the image and select “Copy image”. Then try to paste into other application. In my case nothing is pasted. There is an empty entry in KDE clipboard taskbar app.

I’ve tried it in Chrome and Brave. I also have this problem in desktop Signal messenger - which I believe is also Chromium based. Same works in Firefox, so probably it’s a Chromium bug?
Thank you!

Hello,

I tried it with Opera 74.0.3911.160 (based on Chromium 88.0.4324.150) on openSUSE Leap 15.2.
Right Click -> Paste into Gimp -> works.

Desktop: KDE-Plasma 5.18.6

Bye,
Carsten

Thanx! And what if you try it more times (copy image, paste, copy image, paste…). Could you try to paste into LibreOffice Writer (if it’s installed on your system)? I don’t understand… I’v tried it let’s say 50 times, and 3 times it worked, but 47 times it pasted nothing. I can’t find any “pattern” when it happens.

Operating System: openSUSE Leap 15.2
KDE Plasma Version: 5.18.6
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.71.0
Qt Version: 5.12.7
Kernel Version: 5.3.18-lp152.63-default
OS Type: 64-bit
Processors: 16 × AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 8-Core Processor
Memory: 31,3 GiB of RAM

It’s strange. It is somehow related to (my) KDE Plasma environment. If I log in into IceWM, everything works. In plasma I have disabled all autostart apps, I also uninstalled VirtualBox, but nothing helped. Is there any log containing application warning/errors? Which process is holding the clipboard data?
Thank you!
