Chromium browser terribly slow in VMware Workstation 12 Player

openSUSE Leap 42.1 64-bit x86, gnome desktop, chromium browser, build on suse studio**, **vmdk image file

host Windows 7 Home, VMware Workstation 12 Player

The chromium browser works, but is unusable, because page rendering process extremely slow.

Something is working in the background, I hear some continuous hard disk drive noise while try out.

Virtual disk defrag not helped.

How much memory you give to VM??

Have you checked the real drive for bad or weak sectors??

Latency alsmot always comes down to… Either resources or networking.
So, determine which of those first.
Then, if resources memory and disk (remember that by default a backing file is created that represents the Guest system RAM).
If networking, then determine if the same problem is seen in any other Guests or the HostOS.

There are various fine tuning opbimizations like disconnecting memory use from the backing file, but IMO those are mainly for <fine> tuning. What you’re describing should have a much more obvious cause.
