I had expected that rolling distro Tumbleweed would have the latest-and-greatest Chromium, rather than Leap.

Has there been a change in Chromium distribution through Tumbleweed? A new repo, perhaps?

Does a few days matter so much to you?

In order to provide a stable rolling distro, each new snapshot is extensively tested at openQA before being released. There’s probably a new chromium the versions currently under test. Just wait a day or two.

Patience.

I hadn’t thought of the openQA process; thank you, nrickert. I’ve used Tumbleweed for more than a year now, and can’t remember another occasion when a more recent software version reached Leap first. I thought I should ask.

I seem to recall some occasions when “firefox” was updated on the stable openSUSE before it was updated on Tumbleweed. But that’s relatively rare.

You can actually browse to openQA, and download the DVD being tested. But I don’t think “chromium” is on the DVD, so you would have to find the hidden repo. It’s easier to just wait.

In any case, it was okay for you to ask.
