Chromium and contrib in 11.2

How can i install the chromium web browser on opensuse 11.2 ?
is it in contrib repos?
if yes, how can add the repos?
i found a way for 11.1 but i cant find for 11.2

Hi
The infamous 1-click, but I recommend you just download and install
manually;
<http://software.opensuse.org/search?baseproject=openSUSE%3A11.2&p=1&q=chromium>

You can add a local directory as a repository and check the ‘plain rpm’
box so you can use zypper or YaST to install.

i think software.opensuse.org is contrib repos. Because “openSUSE:Factory:Contrib/openSUSE_11.2” writing on the web site.

your dont recommend to me add the contrib repo to my system ?

Just download and install manually using zypper. It’s easy, you only need 2 packages: chromium and v8.

Ok. But i see a lot of chromium package. Which one should i download?

i downloaded from Index of /repositories/openSUSE:/11.2:/Contrib/standard/x86_64

I am install it from repository. all seems good with it.

~>sudo zypper ar

~>sudo zypper in chromium v8

have no problem with it (i am use it daily as a default browser)

it was a problem when chromium was switched from dbuck repo to contrib repo
it changed package name. from chromium-browser to chromium.
So i was confused a little why it not updated.

AFAIK this name conflicts with this project

Hello all,

I am running opensuse 11.2 64 bit. I am using chromium from contrib repo. Everything worked great until yesterday I performed an upgrade to Chromium 4.0.276.0 and flash-player 10.0.42.34-0.1.1 (i586) from update repo.

After this upgrade the browser on certain pages performs “Fullscreen” behavior if I can describe it correctly: maximizes to a much bigger screen than the one I actually have)

for example in this site: Greek-Movies

I have noticed that if I uninstall flash-player the problem does not occur. I downgraded to flash-player 10.0.32.18-3.2.1 but the problem is still there. So in my opinion there is some problem with chromium 4.0.276.0-1.1 (x86_64) & flash-player.

Is anybody else experiencing the same problem?
