on my PC=Dell latitude E6510, RAM=8Gb, GPU=GT218 NVS 3100M, CPU=i7 Q 720 @ 1.60GHz, OS=opensuse 13.1 KDE= 4.14.0
sometimes, I cannot identify the cause maybe after a resume, both chrome and chromium browser when opened they shows only the frame, the kde one with the three buttons at the top right, and not the contents of the pages, instead the content of the pages I see the desktop, and if I change desktop the one when I opened chrome or chromium is shown, the same remain if I minimize and maximize … or if I logout and login, I must restart.
Is there a way to see the page contents without restart the computer??
manythanks, ciao pier
Sounds like a video problem what driver are you using??
Nvidia driver version 304.121 from 13.1 nvidia repository
Does this happen only on chromium??
Where did you get chromium from?
it happen on chromium and chrome, chromium from opensuse-OSS and chrome from google repository (I don’t know how to have this info…)
also sometimes happen with only the desktop it clitches and mixes with closed windows images…
never happened with firefox …
KDE/gnome/something else? If KDE is configure desktop-desktop effects advanced set to openGL3.1 and raster?
I believe you should be using the 340.32 (That is the GO3 flavor in the repo you use the GO2 flavor which may be the problem) driver for that card Where did you get the driver from?

You can also go to about:flags and search for quic, set both to disabled. Some ISPs break on the new protocol because of poor routers.
it was openGL3.1 and native, I( set now to raster… I will try if it works…
…the GO3 flavour don’t support my graphics board
Looking it up this machine is optimus ie both Intel and NVIDIA chips. So you have to use bumblebee
First remove any trace of the NVIDIA driver you installed.
Then follow exactly the instructions here

…no, may dellE6510 has only one graphics board…, so I think it doesn’t needs optimus… nor bumblebee…

Hmmm guess you do not have Intel GPU. Quick lookup said you did.
Any how here is a check list
You should use GO3 flavor of NVIDIA driver. There are 5 packages making this up be sure you do not mix flavors be sure that you have only the desktop packages and not have a mix of different kernel flavors
If KDE be sure that Configure desktop- Desktop effects - advanced is set to openGL3.1 and raster
You may try some settings in nvidia-settings program to see if it helps.
Be sure the browsers are set NOT to use direct hardware video
…no, I have only GPU=GT218 NVS 3100M …
from Unix Drivers | NVIDIA it seems that 304 legacy and 343.22 Latest Short Lived Branch version and Latest Long Lived Branch version: 340.32 support my graphics card, in the wasn’t so, well I will try GO3 flavour …
