Choppy slow downloading at high speed..

Hey people!

I have a RTL8180 Wireless Card. When I download files from sites and the speed is around 100Kbps, it takes ages to download still! More like double the time! I tried turning off ipv6 because somebody suggested it when I searched the forum for a similar problem.

Here is a screenshot of what network monitor looks like… It should be a constant 100.0, from here I can kinda see why its taking double the time.

Any suggestions and help would be appreciated! I’m clueless with this one… :shame: Even browsing the web is on the slow side. I did try another browser but the problem still exists.

Have you tried pulling down from another site completely? Tried using
something like ‘wget’ or ‘curl’ to grab a file? Ruled out this computer
by using another?

Good luck.

Hiya, Thanks for the reply!

I just went to my other opensuse machine to see what happens, it downloads fine on both machines and at full speed…

Maybe it was my ISP or the website servers to blame… anyhow… I thought it was me… :frowning: Its a phenomenon that Ive never seen before though!

Wireless:

I think I’ll keep ivp6 disabled though… unless its important…

Thanks for the help!
