I don’t know what part of the forum to put this in. My computer makes a buzzing noise whenever I scroll on any webpage or document. While compressing files, it makes a constant chirping noise. It also makes a beep whenever I minimize or maximize a window. I don’t think it’s supposed to do that. What should I do? I have a USB sound card called the Soundblaster Live, made by Creative.

Yeah, those noises can get kinda spooky, huh? I turned 'em off on mine, too … …
(You can do it in “Configure Desktop” or “Personal Settings,” depending on how your K Menu is configured.)
They’re already disabled, though. Maybe I have a sound card problem or alsa driver problem.
I think the problem is my speakers. I plugged them into the windows laptop I have, and noticed the same odd noises. It buzzes and makes a whining noise whenever I maximize or minimize a window. I also realized that I never heard the noises under Suse until I got the speakers. These are cheap $10 speakers from wal-mart with no shielding, so that’s probably why.
