According to the article, it’s for a “lifetime” license with 2 years of support. Whether or not that “lifetime” includes updates/upgrades is unclear. As for the hefty price, that’s supposed to cover the entire cafe, if what I’ve interpreted from the articles is correct.

I am surprised how the Chinese government would actually force the cafes to switch to a specific OS though. I knew that they are going to do something about the piracy sooner of later, but not something like this. But then, they will have a helluva time implementing this… this should be fun.
