Chinese or Japanese characters in the openSUSE forums login screen with firefox

As the the title says. I was about to log in twice using firefox in the english forums and I got those characters.
I am not sure if those were chinese or japanese characters.

I thought it was just me - I saw something similar a couple days ago, but
it didn’t register in my head for some reason.

I’ll pass this along - thanks.

I just saw that when I went to log in a short while ago.

Unsure if it was an interception, I simply shut down Firefox, which I have set to automatically delete all caches and history, then restarted Firefox.

Login screen was back to normal.

Probably not a problem, but it did unnerve me.

Yeah, it’s not an interception - the URL is correct - it looks like
something with language detection on the login page is not working
properly.

As long as I can see two textboxes and the big green button, I’m good to go…

As far as the Chinese writing… it’s all Greek to me rotfl!

Has anybody translated it just to make sure it matches up with what it says in other languages?

Hi conram, Fraser_Bell and dragonbite. Sorry for my post in. I have not noticed this tread before. Should have made a search…

Mea culpa.

regards

That happens on occasion, and they’ve been trying to track down the cause

  • it’s just a localization selection issue.

But yes, it should match up - meaningwise - to the English version.

So, if I was hacking it I would probably try to have it say something like

Ha, You don’t know Chinese (or whatever) so you don’t know what this says!
as my “tell-tale” that I was there.
