Checking surprising software behaviour while working with an XFCE session by XRDP

I am trying also to work with selected remote desktop connections on another system.

I found the article “Install and configure xrdp to use Remote Desktop with Ubuntu” (from 2022-07-27) for this purpose.
I put the command “xfce4-session” into the file “~/.xsession” as it was suggested.

This execution environment looked promising at first glance.
But I stumbled on software behaviour (like the following) which I find questionable.

A) Chromium 103.0.5060.134

Markus_Elfring@…:~> /usr/bin/chromium-browser
Wird in einer aktuellen Browsersitzung geöffnet.
Markus_Elfring@…:~> libva error: vaGetDriverNameByIndex() failed with unknown libva error, driver_name = (null)

B) Konqueror 22.04.3

Markus_Elfring@…:~> konqueror

I wondered about a missing display.
I noticed a moment later that a “reasonable” display was performed within a running KDE session on an other screen instead.
Should the data output be redirected into an other application window?

I would appreciate further advices.

The component “Desktop Manager for the Xfce Desktop Environment” (package “xfdesktop 4.16.1-102.2”) is also installed here.
Now I observe that the following actions do not work as expected with the icons on this desktop.

  • Marking with a single click or the rubber band selection
  • Starting applications with a double-click

I would appreciate further advices and corresponding solution ideas. :\
