Checking activation of selected login manager

I selected a specific display manager. I chose then that a nice background image should be displayed on the login screen.
But I observe that this picture is presented only for a very short moment. I eventually notice also that it gets faded out for a switch to an other known construction drawing.
I wonder about such software behaviour. I assume that another login manager gets activated somehow with different system preferences.

I would appreciate further advices for this software area.

You will need to tell us which display manager you are using, and how you set the background image.

I hope that the display manager “LightDM 1.28.0-43.4” is used together with the software component “lightdm-gtk-greeter 2.0.6-57.18” on my system at the moment.
I can check the preferred background image by the application “lightdm-gtk-greeter-settings 1.2.2-8.3”.
Now I get the impression that the option “Use user wallpaper if available” was activated by a recent software update. I switched this off. The login screen looks then in the way again I got used to for a while.

I’m not sure, but I think you are saying that you now have the system working the way that you wanted.

I’ve just installed that greeter-settings package, so I may experiment with that after completing today’s update.
