Changing yast to use qt

So I’m not thrilled with the GTK style of yast (particularly software management), so I decided to simply change the wanted gui and shell to qt via sysconfig and behold, yast fails to launch

Trying to run it as superuser from a command prompt launches it, but in ncurses with a message of “Qt GUI wanted but not found, falling back to ncurses.”

So setting only the shell starts yast in qt, but the applets still go to gtk.

Any thoughts or ideas on how to cure this situation?

Install the yast-qt package and try again.

yast2-qt will let you run yast2 with qt GUI but it will not be the same as the yast2 under KDE. It will contain no icons. Almost text mode under GUI.

To have a full yast-qt (if you want) install also this:
yast2-control-center-qt
