changing timeout on login

I have installed Leap 42.2 andam pleased with it so far.
I understand the security need to log out an inactive user and require them to reenter the password to get back on, but the timeout is too short for me.
Does anyone know how to change or set the timeout to a longer period?

Users are not logged out at all automatically AFAIK.
I suppose you mean the desktop’s screen locker?

Depends on what desktop you use then.
In KDE/Plasma: systemsettings5 (“Configure Desktop”)->Workspace Behavior->Screen Locker.
