This is driving me crazy and I apologize in advance for asking about something this inconsequential but I’d like to know how to change the color of the icon text (which is usually beneath the icon) in KDE4. For example, I have a Desktop Folder View with Firefox and Thunderbird icons and the icon text is in Black making it hard to read with my wallpaper. (I suppose I could change the wallpaper but…) Come to think of it, the word Desktop is also in Black and I’d like to change that to White as well.
The icon text color is set by the plasma theme, Aya the default uses a black font most others use white.
Right click desktop select “Desktop Settings” > select Theme dropdown > select a theme with a white font.
Thanks. That worked with the “Oxygen” theme. And it is curious that I can’t seem to get to this setting via “Configure Desktop” in the SUSE menu.
If you use ‘folder view’ as desktop activity type, there’s an easy way to change the color of the icon text:
Desktop settings (plasma workspace) - Display - Text settings - Text color
