Changing from LXDE to XFCE

Is it possible to change from LXDE to XFCE without doeing a full new install - I wouldn’t like to have both LXDE and XFCE paterns just XFCE.As I understand I could pick XFCE from Yast and it wold allow me to have it at the login page but how to remove all of the lxde? Will I lose all software installed on LXDE?

Honestly, just install XFCE, and don’t worry about LXDE being there. Many of the LXDE applications are also XFCE applications. So the amount of extra storage by keeping LXDE is relatively small. And it is otherwise harmless to keep both.

Once you have installed XFCE, just login to it from the login menu. After the first time, it should remember your preference is for XFCE. If you are set for auto-login, then logout once and login again to XFCE. And then you should be set.
