I have a Logitech VX Revolution, and I would like to change the “search/find” button to be used to middle click as opposed what it currently does, opening a new google tab in firefox. The mouse settings in System Settings does not have a tab for editing what the buttons do. (I thought there should be a Logitech tab, but I guess that is for USB only)
You could either modify the ~/.xmodmap file or install xbindkeys Software.openSUSE.orgUse xev in a terminal to find the scan codes returned and use them in the modification/install.
Looking at the Logitech website, it shows Mac drivers available. You might look at those drivers to see what keys are codes returned. OSX is unix derived so should be similar to linux drivers.
