Changes to fonts in Libre Office?

Just a quick query about the fonts available in Libre office via openSUSE. As a long time user of Linux & Libre office I have noticed recently that a few of my documents & spreadsheets have started showing some of the fonts I am using like arial, sans serif & Times N

ew Roman for example in orange with a warning triangle as they are not available in the drop down font box that I have in the tool bar at the top where you select the font style & size etc.

I notice that this is also populated with quite a few SUSE alternatives & others like adwatia etc. Not a big deal & probably a pedantic query so sorry about this. But is this a recent change where openSUSE have stripped out commercial fonts in line with non proprietary policy or a Libre Office thing or something coming from Adobe as I see they may be something to do with them? Or has this been the case for a while & I’ve only just noticed it?

As I say not a big deal but just curious if anyone know any more about it.

Do you have the openSUSE Tumbleweed repo-oss “fetchmsttfonts” package installed?

Or, you could consider using Metric-compatible fonts: <Metric-compatible fonts>

• And, setting up LibreOffice to auto-magically use the compatible fonts: Tools → Fonts → Replacement Table

Fonts not installed on the system always showed in Italics in the dropdown font box up to the 25.8.x releases of LibreOffice. With the current 26.2.x releases they show in Italics and orange and with a warning sign.

Thank you & @OrsoBruno for taking the time to reply & offer solutions & explanations. Installing the fetchmsttfonts packaged did the job for me in my situation so I’ve marked that as the solution.

What I really like about the latest “standard” MS Office font “Aptos” is the original name:
