Changed user name from GNOME and now I can't access XFCE desktop

Hey guys,

I installed OpenSUSE last week with default XFCE desktop. Then I installed GNOME as well using YaST. A couple of weeks after that, I changed my username through YaST User. Since then, I haven’t been able to log in to XFCE. IDK what’s the issue but each time I login I jsut get OpenSUSE Mwelcome XFCE prompt and nothing after that. I have tried uninstallting XFCE using

sudo zypper rm -u xfce4

and then:

zypper ve

And it does remove successfully, but after reinstalling it via YaST, I still can’t access XFCE desktop and it’s the same old issue.

I’m using GNOME atm and am loving my OpenSUSE experience atm. I really don’t want to do a fresh install and want to work my way around it.

Perhaps try removing all of the XFCE user settings files.

Logout from Gnome. Use CTRL-ALT-F1 to get a terminal and login there.

And then try:

rm -rf .cache .config .local

and see if you can login then.
