change screen resolution suse 10.3 ????

hello, i’m new to this os… i’ve installed linux suse 10.3 on my pc, when i enter the suse, the screen resolution become like 1600 x 1024 or something like that…

the question is how can i change the resolution ?? by the way my video card is nvidia geforce 8800 gtx and my monitor is lg flatron L226WTO-WF…

should i install the nvidia driver first ??? but i can’t access the super user function from alt+f2… when i run alt+f2 and type su, nothing happened…

i’m really confused… can anyone help me ??

thx for your effort guyz…

Install the Nvidia driver first using the suggested methods, and then set your screen resolution with YaST by going to the Hardware > Monitor module.

ok, thx for your kind answer…

anyway, i was wondering why can’t i run su ( super user ) in this os ?? my friend tells me to configure the network connection we must run su, but when i run and type su, nothing happened… by the way my friend use linux open suse 11.0, is there a different syntax to run su in suse 10.3 ??

reply greatly appreciated…

Open a terminal and post the output of the following:

$ su -
<user password>

thank you… you’re definitely helping me a lot…
