When I start VirtualBox I have to change to vboxusers the group for the file
/dev/bus/usb/004/002 which is a usb printer.
Otherwise, VBox cannot connect to it.
Every time I boot the group is always lp
Can anybody tell me how to change it permanently?
You can not change it permanently because this file (and its user:group) is created either at boot (when the device is connected allready) or later (when it is connected) and lost at shutdown. However you may be able to influence the ownership at creation time by creating an applicable udev rule: Writing udev rules
Add your user to the lp group!
Of course… Thanks. Sometimes it’s so easy that you need somebody to make you think. Thanks again.
I have already resolved the problem adding myself to lp group following hank_se](http://forums.opensuse.org/english/get-help-here/applications/447614-change-group-permanently-device-post2233601.html#post2233601) advice.
But I’ll take a look at that link. Thank you.
hank_se gave a solution your problem, mine was a solution to your question.
Yes! And I appreciate it! When it’s possible without much trouble, I prefer this kind of solution than just a shortcut to avoid the problem.
Thanks again.
