You need the magic number at the start of the file to tell which interrupter is to be used, in this case bash. Ok it is not a number but it really is in binary.
If other distro’s don’t require it they probably are hard wired to only one interrupter.
Is a desktop shortcut the same as dragging it to the desktop ?
Because if it is, it is not working.
Hi
On GNOME it isn’t, not sure on KDE. On GNOME I have built a Nautilus plugin on OBS that does this, maybe there is something similar on KDE, but as pointed out by another user you need to use the full path to the script in the exec part of the desktop file.
What are you using for the desktop? By default in KDE it uses that widget but you can change it to be like Windows, etc.
KDE.
I installed a widget, but can not find out where it is.
Yeah but what mode are you using? Because I think that makes a difference. Here is an example of what I mean, in this case I am using “Default Desktop”.
I went to the default desktop and some of my desktop icons disappeared.
I have figured out how to change icon size and assign new icons to programs.
All problems solved.
If you change the desktop model you change the desktop. What is shown in one model may not be shown in another. I Like the folder view myself but I generally don’t point it to my desktop folder I point my main to ~/ and I have 3 other desktops defined one points at my HTML development folder another to Dektop and another to my program development folder. So I can change to another Desktop and I am set up for a new activity.
You can do the same thing with activities or mix both ways together ie multiple Desktops with multiple activities
