cd's to MP3 ?

I use banshee for my music library, however in order to sync it to my ipod I need to import my cd’s as mp3 currently the only options available are ogg vorbis, free lossless audio codec, waveform pcm, and wavepack. So my question is… what plugin am I missing?

Try this think it is still relevant think you need the ugly one but its one of the gstreamer ones with lame.

Will probably need to be from packman

Thanks for the input, I figured it was a gstreamer but I was not sure that post seems to be a good place to start. I will keep u posted.

It was the gstreamer plug-ins however I do not know witch one did the trick I installed the good the bad and the ugly and nothing worked then I updated them all and it worked so I do not know if it requires all of them or just one.

I did something similar, I’m pretty sure it is ugly at least that was what I needed for playback, in a different player.

But just looking even with them all not sure it adds up to 10mb. Now a days with the size of hdds such a incy wincy tiny space not even worth worrying about.

Glad you solved it, as some was guess work here I normally use k3b

I use grip & lame and them does the job!

Insert audio cd, start k3b, rip, done.
