With Suse 10.0 fstab had lines for cd devices.
On the same box but with OS 11.1 there are no cd devices in fstab. Why not and what has replaced their function?

It is now linked to /dev/sr0 which is a block device.
CDs and DVDs are dynamically mounted in /media, as /media/<LABEL> where <LABEL> is the label of the disk.
In my setup (same as yours, 11.1, but KDE4.1) the directory /media is empty (no hidden files) and nothing happens when I insert my USB stick or a CDrom. I can write to a CD in K3b and play music on one, but the file system does not recognize a data cd and I cannot browse its contents.
After inserting a music CD, I have to manually eject it. The eject button on Amarok or other media players will not umount and eject the CDs.
Any suggestions?
No such issues here. But I’m kde4.2
Do CD’s etc show in Dolphin and have ‘eject’ available?
