Cd image too big.

I think this kinda funny but your cd image for the kde desktop is larger then my cds which are 700MB.

I’m not sure what the exact link is because the web page appears to be using javascript.
I happen to have a few dvds but others might not be so lucky. Or they might not be able to access the intranet for that length of time or may suffer from data caps imposed on them from there provider.
My point, why is the cd image not a cd image?
If you really have to have it that big why say it is a “cd image” why not say it is “a small dvd image”?

Yes, it’s a small DVD image.

Looking on that page, it is described as:

  • A KDE desktop that you can run from DVD or from USB stick.

Maybe it also says “CD” somewhere, but I must have not been looking wherever that is.

"Live GNOME

A GNOME desktop you can run from DVD or from USB stick.
Can be installed as is (no upgrade)."

"Live KDE

A KDE desktop you can run from DVD or from USB stick.
Can be installed as is (no upgrade)."

I don’t see where you’re seeing that it claims to be a CD Image.

The rescue image says it’s suitable for a CD or USB drive, and it is -
it’s 602 MB, which easily fits on a CD.

Hmm… It used to be a CD image. Now that you mention it it does say DVD or USB. OK my mistake.:shame:

You are right. It use to be a CD till the introduction of 12.2 or 12.3
