Hi,
I have added Catalyst repo for 13.2 (http://geeko.ioda.net/mirror/amd-fglrx/openSUSE_13.2), and installed fglrx64 packages, but OS won’t load in standard mode. When I choose standard mode from the boot menu, black screen appears and nothing happens. When I choose recovery mode, system starts without any issues. With open source drivers, there are no problems either. Could you please tell me what might be the cause of this problem and how to solve it?
Thank you,
Nenad

I’ve run into similar issues - it seems the Catalyst drivers don’t yet
support Xorg 1.16. I’ve had to revert to the radeon driver until AMD
gets the driver updated to support the Xorg server - suspect you’ll have
to do the same.

Thank You for the answer. I suppose this will be fixed with new version of catalyst drivers, which is coming soon

Have a look at the thread I started in the hardware forum - there’s
someone else there with the same card I have who got it working, so we’re
diagnosing the issue to see what is different (he did a clean install, I
did an upgrade, so it seems something between those two installations is
likely the culprit).
