Catalyst legacy drivers and openSUSE 12.3

With 12.3 coming soon I’m thinking about upgrade.
However I’m not sure that’s going to work because of ATI drivers and Xorg 1.13
I would use free radeon drivers but for some reason they overheat too much, on idle I get 80C , with catalyst I get 47C.
I tried to solve that overheating problem, researched a lot about it but no luck.
Temperature is dropping to 56C only when I set the profile to low, but then everything is crawling and I simply can’t use the OS in that condition.
Every other profile works okay, but temp is is just too high and not going below 80C
Haven’t tried 12.3 yet but I’m guessing same thing would happen there too with free radeon drivers.
So I’m forced to use catalyst drivers, the only question is will they work.

Has anyone tried catalyst legacy drivers with 12.3 ?

Hi
No, since it won’t work :wink:

I updated my xorg driver though due to a screen issue switching vt’s;
