So, that car with the j4 2.2 compressore plate is an “alfa romeo 159 1600cc 2010”? can’t always believe what you read, I suppose, particularly on the internet.
No surprise that I’ve got a V12 Jaguar - a 1981 XJS (P-Digital, pre-HE, 5.3 litres, top speed 155 miles per hour). As my mechanic keeps telling me when I pay him (lots and often), the 1981 is a very special model. It’s my third Jag - I should have known better! I call mine the Black Beast - it’s black and it’s a beast. As the Jag XJS brochures say, Thundering Elegance or Grace with Pace. It’s also very thirsty - 15 - 17 miles to the gallon.
I like giving Mercs, BMWS, Porsche’s, Subaru’s, Evo’s, etc a fright at the traffic lights - they don’t expect an ‘old’ car to leave them in the dust (the XJS has phenomenal torque).
For my sins, I’ve also got a 1979 British Leyland Triumph, 2.5 lite, straight six, twin carbs. I call it the Green Goddess because of it’s green paint (a slightly vile shade).
For my daily driver, I’ve got a 1990’s Audi 80. It’s a lemon.
I love Lotus Esprit! Though I haven’t got one, yet! A XJ220 or a DB6/7 would also be nice to use to overtake V12Jaguar’s Jaguar:), but those are a bit more in the distance for my economy.http://www.lotusespritturbo.com/Lotus_Esprit_S2.jpg
I think that the DB7 was basically the same platform as the Jag XJS’s. The early DB7’s also used an evolved version of the Jag straight six AJ6 motor (you could get XJS’s and Jag XJ6 saloons with the same motor). In other words, DB7’s were really Jag’s under the skin
Not really surprising because, at that time, both Jaguar and Aston Martin were owned by Ford.
I think that the XJS is one of the most beautiful cars, but most think that it’s quite un-Jaguar. I like it a lot better than the famous Jag E-type, which is 50 years old this year.
Maybe JoergJaeger is the king of chit chat. I write guides in opensuse in greek forum. I have only this thread the thread about football and music. Nothing more.

That’s an Eventer - a post-factory conversion done by Lynx, who only made 67. The correct description is ‘shooting brake’, not estate. Makes a pretty stylish hearse (for short coffins).
Interestingly, the first XJS convertibles were post-factory conversions too, done by an American coach-building company for the US market.
