Can't update system

Hi. I’ve been distro hopping trying to find one that’s right for me and doesn’t hog 90% CPU and 90% RAM like the last distro I trid :). So far my only with with OpenSUSE is that I can’t update it. When I go to terminal and type “zypper update” it tells me “Emoty destination in URI: hd://device=/dev/disk/by-id/scsi-1PHISON_USB3-part2”

What does this mean?

Hi and welcome to the forum :slight_smile:
You need to disable the install medium repo. Then you should be good to go.

Sweet. Thanks. It now tells me my system is up to date…So I guess I never had any updates to do?!

Hi
Just check repos are active?

zypper lr
zypper ref
zypper dup

Yep still nothing to update…weird

Hi
What are your repos, what is the tumbleweed release?

zypper lr
cat /etc/os-release

Thank you for spoon feeding me the code :slight_smile:

Hi
Hmmm why 13.2 Emulators repo… asking for trouble… it should be removed and replaced with the Tumbleweed one.

OK, so fresh install and all up to date, so you should be good to go once you fix that repo.

Keep an eye out here for releases;

For example;

haha sorry! no more trouble please. I was trying to see if the Dolphin game emulator was on there. Looks like it only has an old version. I’ll remove it.

Hi
No trouble… hmm the latest git release of dolphin-emu is there?

https://build.opensuse.org/package/show?project=Emulators&package=dolphin-emu

Thank you… You are very helpful. Maybe I should stick with openSUSE??? :smiley:

And Dolphin is up and running it seems. Do I need to mark this thread as solved or anything like that?

Hi
Nope, it’s fine, one day in the future it will get archived away…

Enjoy openSUSE and remember to have fun :slight_smile:
