I have Mozilla Firefox in my list of repositories, as the URL:
Index of /repositories/mozilla/openSUSE_11.1
Then, in the terminal I run:
sudo zypper up MozillaFirefox
And the answer is:
resuming:
reading packages,
There are no candidates to update MozillaFireFox
Resolving dependencies
Nothing to do
So… I don’t know what to do. (I know suse 11.2 will come with firefox 3.5 but it would be great to learn how tyo update myself just in case I want to update other software in the future)
Thanks for your feedbacks
best regards
agunet74
Zypper will look for updates for Firefox 3.0. Use the Yast software manager, and filter by repositories. Install Firefox 3.5 from the Mozilla repo.
Install Firefox 3.5 from the Mozilla repo
What do I have to do to install from Mozilla repo ?
zypper lr -d
brings:

agunet@agunet:~> zypper lr -d

but
still… nothing to do.
rpm -q MozillaFirefox
gives:
MozillaFirefox-3.0.14-0.1.2
Why don’t you do this through Yast. In the software manager, filter by repositories, then select the Mozilla repo. Look at the installed packages and choose Firefox. You will then an option to upgrade to FF 3.5.

I tried to do that but it doesn’t upgrade! >:(
Can you tell us what happens? Any messages you see would be helpful.
I see the same screen, as if I were installing or upgrading software- I choose to upgrade firefox program, the yast update screen begins to displays the updates, but I end with the same version:
3.0.14
If I search by repository and choose firefox, is the same: Yast update screen appears and then: still the same version.
Now, I wish to begin from zero. Let’s think I am in the 3.0.14 version of firefox (as I am now) and wish to upgrade.
What steps do I have to do from the very beginning to do that ?
I appreciate you patience very much!!

Try giving the Mozilla repo a higher priority say: 20
Then: Yast - Software Management - Filter by repo, select FFox
From the top menu ‘Package’ select Update all in this list Unconditionally
