Can't stop the screen from locking

I’m running KDE4 on 11.1, and I cannot stop the screen from blanking and locking itself after a period of time. I have disabled this in the power control settings and in the screen saver settings, but it still locks the screen. Please help, this is annoying as hell.

Umm… I wonder if we have the same issue here.
I would like you to read the ENTIRE thread and tell me if my assumption is true. Please take a look at Unlocking screen - unlocking failed. - openSUSE Forums

Thanks.

The problem is similar but I don’t think it’s the same. I have no trouble getting the screen to unlock, although the weird thing is there is no timeout: no matter how quickly I move the mouse after the screen blanks I am asked for a password. But providing the password at any time unlocks the screen just fine and lets me back in, my problem is I don’t want the screen to blank at all to begin with.

I’ve got the same problem and gave up on a fix. it started as soon as I updated to kde 4.2. it’s so freaking annoying!!! i disabled all screensavers, power applets everything i could find related to screensaver. but the problem persists no matter what. I don’t have any screensaver setup, why the hell does it start anyway? and why then do I need to unlock the screen? i remember i saw someone mentioned deleting the whole .kde4 folder may help. but i don’t wanna go through all that trouble of setting everything up again. it really sucks.

and that kernerl update yesterday… it stuffed up everything: nvidia, virtualbox, boot loader… why did it install a trace kernel as well? it’s just beyond me. seems like suse is following on the path of fedora 8-9 - path of destruction >:(

Same problem here , and also get multiple notifications it has locked the screen , KDE 4.2 is weirding out .
Can unlock ok .

Found this and it worked for me ;Personal Settings (Configure Desktop)>Advanced>Service Manager>Power Devil
But I am running on a Laptop , may not work for desktop !

That seems to have done the trick, thanks!

Only thing is it takes away power button log out , so pushing power button does nothing , with this on pushing power button gave a option screen , log out , restart , shut down , with this off it will not .
