openSUSE 11.4 is a development release. I don’t think you can depend on anything working properly on a lot of systems with this version. IN fact, you could report the problems as being a bug I supposed, but not likely going to get any help with this issue right now.

Before I would attempt to trouble shoot any openSUSE 11.4 problem, I would highly recommend you stick with the present openSUSE 11.3 release. I would go to the following site and download the 4.7 GB DVD copy of openSUSE 11.3 and proceed to install this version over 11.4. Then, when you are done, drop back by if you have any issues with this version.

software.opensuse.org: Download openSUSE 11.3

Thank You,

Huh…

11.4 is “factory”, the next version to be, in current development. If you use it, you are expected
to find problems and help solve them - not ask here how to solve them >:-)

I would recommend you switch to one of the stable releases. When you gain experience you can help by
testing the next release. There is a forum dedicated to factory, and also a mail list, where you can
ask about things and help others.

-ty, wokay123;)

11.4 M2 works fine - you just have to edit in the partition to fstab

Hi Wokay123; Edit (as root or su) your /etc/fstab to include the following line:

/dev/disk/by-id/ata-ST9500420AS_5VJ1AKS0-part1 /windows7 ntfs-3g users,gid=users,fmask=133,dmask=022,locale=en_US.UTF-8 0 0

changing the drive id to match what the windows partition on your system.
