Can't reinstall grub on Macbook

I installed openSuse 11.0 on my Macbook and followed the instructions on this page:

OpenSUSE on a Mac - openSUSE

but I still cannot get Grub installed. The partition scheme is:

  1. rEFIt
  2. Mac
  3. Suse

and when I chroot into the environment to install reinstall grub I continue to get “Error 22L No such partition”. Running parted -l does give me the proper partitions. Any thoughts?

I just ran into this exact problem with a friend’s macbook pro. It seems like there won’t be the same issue in 11.1. I’m considering trying RC1 on his machine when it comes out since it won’t be his main OS. I’m going to try to give it another shot probably tomorrow. I’ll let you know if I have any success.
