Can't play mp3

I’ve just installed packman repository and can’t get any sound from mp3. Alredy try on Kaffeine, Amarok e juK and none of them show any kind of sound.

Don’t know what do do. Any suggestions?

Do you have any basic sound from the speaker test:
SDB:AudioTroubleshooting - openSUSE
Note you MUST try all 3 tests (ie the two “speaker-test” and the one test on the alsa web site. Its very common that only one of those work.

If you do have sound there, then please read the following:

I think my hardware is just fine, I can see and hear any video from youtube. The problem is just with mp3 files, anything else works fine.

I asked a friend about it, he said to me that I just need to add the packman and will work. Apparently, he was wrong.

I read the link, did what I was told to do and guess what… didn’t work.

Post the result of this from a terminal:

zypper lr --details

I think your friend is correct. Many new users make a mistake and mix applications from different repositories inadvertently.

In addition to providing the information requested by caf4926 (to check your repository setup) please also show us what multimedia you have installed. You can do that by copying and pasting the following into a konsole or terminal and posting here the output:

rpm --query --all 'libav*' 'libpostproc*' 'libswscale*' '*xine*' '*gst*' '*layer*' '*vlc*' | grep -v avahi | sort

That command comes from RedDwarf’s guide: Check your multimedia problem in ten steps - openSUSE Forums
