Can't Open ttys0

I can’t seem to use the /dev/ttys0 com port in 11.1.
I am trying to use cwirc via xchat.

dmesg | grep tty
console [tty0] enabled
serial8250: ttyS0 at I/O 0x3f8 (irq = 4) is a 16550A
serial8250: ttyS1 at I/O 0x2f8 (irq = 3) is a 16550A
00:0b: ttyS0 at I/O 0x3f8 (irq = 4) is a 16550A
00:0c: ttyS1 at I/O 0x2f8 (irq = 3) is a 16550A

setserial -g /dev/ttyS*
/dev/ttyS0, UART: 16550A, Port: 0x03f8, IRQ: 4
/dev/ttyS1, UART: 16550A, Port: 0x02f8, IRQ: 3

Any help will be appreciated.

Not sure if this has changed since 10.x, but:
are you member of the uucp group, or are you doing this with root perms?
If not: sudo usermod -A uucp <user> (+logout, login).

Yup, that fixed it, Thanks!
