does anybody else have this problem???
I have the latest firefox, and yet, i can’t get full use of hotmail. It keeps asking me to upgrade to 3.0, even though that is what i have.
What the heck is going on???

I get the same message every time I log in. You should be fine with light mode, which I use myself.
yer, but its just Annoying! lol.
its only been happening the last couple of days.
Does anybody know what is causing this problem?
I can’t understand why it complains to upgrade your browser when
it is in fact the latest. I mean… i can live with it if i have no choice, but it is irritating.

I started getting that message a few days ago.
I figured it was down to M$'s **** coding abilities. My Firefox 3 clearly announces itself as Firefox 3 via the User Agent string.
Hotmail is designed by a bunch of amateurs, you can tell that by many things. We probably get this message because there is a Linux part in our user agent string

Well, most of us started out with Microsoft services in the beginning and for some services you can’t just make an easy switch. I still use Hotmail for my personal contacts and Gmail (switched from annoying and unreliable Yahoo E-mail to Gmail) for all the other stuff.
Yeah I wonder what browser M$ would prefer you using?

uffffff…i’ve the same problem too…i’m becoming crazy lately with all softwares installation on the new pc…it’boring.
Yet I still find people arguing that Microsoft does not engage in anti-competitive behaviour :rolleyes:

Update to FF 3.0, I just logged into my hotmail with it and I don’t notice any missing functionality.

Not true for me, or any one else I know on Linux. Just tried my old Hotmail and get the browser message. Using OpenSuSe 11 and FF3.
I considered changing to gmail, “google” (as i like to support google cause they support linux ) and created an account, i found out you can still keep your msn contacts with google talk apparently, which is cool. Only problem is… for some reason, Everybody that i sent a test email to, (all hotmail accounts) from my gmail account, didn’t recieve it. It went to their junk mail! :s arrghhh. I dunno why hotmail discards emails from gmail! what the hell? lol.
ahwell… have to put up with annoying hotmail for now.

btw, i remember hotmail when it was not owned by M$…it was fast and
reliable…and, ran on Linux…it took them a LONG time and a LOT of
money to switch out the Linux for their own software…and, it has
never been fast since…
