Can't open home directory

This is strange. I use 11.0/KDE 4.1.2. Suddenly, if I click on the home icon in kickoff/computer, a permission box comes up for password. It is requested by “sbin/yast2 --install/home/user”. It is the same if the root icon is clicked, except the request is by “sbin/yast2 --install/”. I don’t have a clue.:frowning:

Assuming that you are using dolphin as your file manager - open a terminal and at the command prompt type dolphin.

Does your home directory open in dolphin? Or do you get an error message?

Hi, thanks. Yes, dolphin opens both home and / directories. I appreciate the help. I really like this distro. olddude

  • olddude,

your dolphin icon got messed up somehow. Id simply delete it and add it again.
