Can't launch Gnote when I search for it

I just switched from Manjaro to OpenSUSE Tumbleweed (both KDE) this week and everything is working fine, except launching Gnote. If I search for Gnote in KRunner or the KDE menu and press enter, I get this popup:
*
Launching Gnote (failed)
The name org.gnome.Gnote was not provided by any .service files

*However, if I browse the KDE menu for Gnote and click it, it launches just fine. Works fine from the terminal as well. If I then pin it to the taskbar it gives the error again when launching from there unfortunately.

Hi
Not a Plasma user, but the desktop file is called org.gnome.Gnote.desktop or the binary gnote. I suspect you would need to create a krunner service to launch.

@Dafon:

Within the KRunner settings, have you checked, within the “Plasma search” settings, the box related to searching for Applications?

  • BTW, I’ve just now installed Gnote on this KDE Plasma box and, it starts from Klipper perfectly.

Yeah I learned how to create a .service file and where to put it, and it works now. Don’t know why it wasn’t there in the first place but everything’s fine now :slight_smile:
