I tried to install an rpm using zypper and it retrieved all the repositories until it hung at this:
Retrieving repository 'openSUSE-13.2-Update' metadata
It just sits there (and has been for 5 minutes) and won’t let me get past it. What can I do to fix this?

could be a bad mirror, or an overloaded server as there was a large update released for LEAP and probably for 13.x,
you could try refreshing your repo’s
sudo zypper ref
if it’s an overloaded server you could wait a while or modify your repo to point to a different server, for a list of opensuse 13.2 update mirrors see this

Depending on your Internet connection, it can still be downloading… 13.2 was released a very long time ago and the Update repo is now very large.
Wait awhile longer.
