The installation goes normal until the “System Role” window. Here is the screenshot: http://www.imagebam.com/image/6910b11340842652
After I choose “Desktop with KDE Plasma” the installation is stuck. The loading circle on the cursor is active from time to time, suggesting the system is not completely frozen.
I’ve waited for about 5 hours, but the installation didn’t get any further.
Choosing “Desktop with GNOME” didn’t work either.

Base Memory: 1024 MB

Maybe give 2048 MB

Recommended System Requirements

2 Ghz dual core processor or better
2 GB system memory
Over 40GB of free hard drive space
Either a DVD drive or USB port for the installation media
Internet access is helpful, and required for the Network Installer

Known problem. Installation needs more than 1GB. After installation you can reduce memory, but for installation make it at least 2GB.

I set the memory to 2 GB and it worked!
Thank you!

after installlation less RAM? just was crying with an older MacBook with only 2GB of RAM , would freeze after several minutes. Then I understood and increased swap to 6GB and I don’t have issues any more,

If you add swap, it is probably okay.

If you use live media for install, and manually add swap before starting the installer, that would probably work too.
