Can't install new kernel update

When i try to install the new kernel i get this message from Yast “PackageKit Error dep-resolution-failed: madwifi-kmp-pae-0.9.4_2.6.27.7_9.1-1.i586 requires kernel(pae:mm) = b853ab28d43f4e8e, but this requirement cannot be provided”. Is this because the madwifi drivers haven’t been updated yet. Is it possible to unistall them and reinstall them manually by using madwifi-0.9.4-1.i586.rpm and madwifi-kmp-pae-0.9.4_2.6.27.7_9.1-1.i586.rpm or should i just wait for updated drivers in the repository? Any Help is appreciated.

P.S. using opensuse 11.1

thanks
Dwight

Madwifi needs to be the same version as the kernel. YaST is protecting you.
Wait, unless you don’t need wireless.

Does any one no how long before madwifi has a kernel update?

Thanks
Bryan

Why do you use madwifi? Because you were used to on previous versions? In 11.0 I could not get the ath5k driver to work, and i needed to install madwifi, but since 11.1 the ath5k driver does the job, and IMHO it does it’s job better than madwifi.
You could also download the madwifi sources via SVN, and compile the kernel module yourself. A howto should be on the madwifi site.
