So I just installed 13.2 64 bit with KDE on a new computer. I discover that while I
can play videos (Youtube, CNN News, etc) with sound, I cannot start an audio stream
such as from radio stations or internet music sites. I click on the “play”
button and nothing happens. Any ideas?
Confused what program arr you using that has that button on it??? All the crystal balls are in the shop so you have to explain things to us we can’t see over your shoulder

Try installing the (non-free) multimedia codecs:

Sorry – I’m going to various internet radio sites using Netscape and then clicking on the play
button at which point nothing happens. If I use the same browser to go to youtube, I have
no problem with the videos, so the basic audio function seems to work.
As to the codecs. I had no problems doing this with my old computer running Suse 13.1/32bit
with the same browser, so unless something was removed between 13.1/32 bit and 13.2/64bit
I don’t know what’s gone wrong.
Well, I seem to have fixed the problem. For a couple of stations it involved
setting a preference in “Applications” in the Firefox browser. Never could get
the third station to work with Firefox, but it seems to work fine in Konquerer.
